Flap was born on February 17th, 1956 under the name of 'Blackie van de Welkom' (L.O.B. 72382). He took part in five 'Grand Prix of Belgium' in Ring trials from 1958 to 1962 and his best performance was second place with 313.8 points in 1959. Flap's sire, Snap van de Schransweg, won several trials in ring sport.
Dogs from the Flap line were predominantly known to be fast and well put together, however they were often sensitive to the unknown.
